Consultations

Consultations are perfect for the homeowner who wants some ideas to spruce up an area, is looking for some plant suggestions for a particular site, or just wants some tips on maintaining their garden. A one to two hour consultation with a professional may be all you need to clarify your vision. We can identify the tree and plant species, assess your soil, identify invasive plants, listen to your hopes and concerns, and make ecologically sound recommendations for your next steps. This process helps clients understand their landscapes better so they feel more confident going forward. Afterwards, we provide a written summary.

This service does not include any drawn up designs, but can be the first step in the design process. Consultations are provided on an hourly basis.

Some clients take this information and do all the subsequent work themselves. Others use it as a starting point for a longer-term engagement including garden design, installation and maintenance. It's up to you!

Garden Design

Our experience with native species and ecological practices allows us to provide low maintenance, highly resilient landscape designs. Our designs support our natural environment, ensuring a haven for both our clients and for wildlife. Whether it is somewhere to entertain or a place of retreat, creating a beautiful and thoughtful design is the first step in building your ideal outdoor space. Wild Nectar will guide you through the design process from initial consultation through installation to ensure that the project meets your expectations.

We will conduct a site analysis, taking a look at the orientation, sun and shade factor, soil evaluation, and discuss what you want to accomplish and your budget. We will provide an estimate that includes our design fees, plant costs, and installation fees. Once our proposal is accepted we begin the design process.

We offer Conceptual design drawings, plant lists, and plant palettes. Or any combination that makes sense for you.

Vegetable & Edible Garden Design

Wild Nectar is proud to be offering raised beds for gardens of all sizes.  We will meet with you to determine what size bed(s) will meet your needs, what vegetables, herbs and cut flowers you would like to grow, and how much time you'd like to spend tending your garden.  From there, let us do the work! We will custom build and deliver your garden boxes, amend the soil to promote healthy plants, and plant and sow the seedlings and seeds that you have selected. We would be happy to maintain your edible garden throughout the season until it's time to harvest.

Ongoing Maintenance

Whether your garden has gotten a little too wild, or just needs a bit of extra attention throughout the season, we're here to help. Garden maintenance services include weeding, deadheading, splitting perennials, transplanting and pruning. Based on your wants and your garden's needs, we will work with you to develop a custom maintenance and care routine that will keep your garden looking its best. The frequency of our visits can range from just a few times a season to once a week.

A maintenance plan is especially recommended for the first year after installation of a new garden. Weed infiltration and lack of water during the first few seasons will limit the effectiveness of the new planting.
